Is the Cadent iTero™ Recession Proof?...
Dental offices are down across the country and as a result Dental labs are as well. The majority of labs around the country are down in sales, some more than others, however being 10% down or better is considered good for the current market. Ragle Dental Laboratory isn't really any different from any other lab fighting the current economic situation, except for one thing: the Cadent iTero™ dentist.

I’m glad you asked....
A few months back I received a call from a longstanding client who had received a charge on a complete remake of a single crown. The reason for the remake was a distortion of the first impression which was noted on our Remake Findings Form after our review of the case. The client was not as concerned about the charge but the reason, stating that; "who is he to tell me my impression was bad?" The question could have stemmed from the age of the person filling out the findings form, how it was written on the findings form, or this client could have been having a bad day. But, the reality of it was we redid a case due to a faulty impression.

One Month left of the Captek™ Promotion
Our New Years resolution this year was to provide our customers with a more affordable Captek™ crown in 2008. Many of you have taken advantage of this promotion. We really believe in Captek™, now more than ever, especially since Nano technology and GC’s pressable porcelain gives us a consistent, predictable result every time. When building a crown consistency is paramount. It is our sincere wish to provide our customers and ultimately their patients with the best restoration options the Lab industry has to offer. It does not get much better than Captek™. Many of our customers now firmly believe in the benefits of Captek™. This was our hope when we implemented this year’s promotion. All things must come to an end. Rising costs have forced us to review our Captek™ promotional price structure. But it will remain in effect through the end of September.

Dentristy... seemed to be the buzz throughout the week at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting this year. From Clinical to Laboratory “Digital” was mentioned, used, shown and demonstrated as the biggest change to hit Dentistry since Ceramco meant a porcelain crown. To those who are younger than I, Ceramco is a porcelain brand name but like Xerox is to copies, and Kleenex is to tissue, when Ceramco porcelain was introduced it became synonymous as a branded all-inclusive name for a PFM. As history seemingly repeats itself, we now attribute Lava as any type of Zirconia crown. “

After 33 years in the lab business I have learned one important thing, that there are some things that will never be understood so we learn to accept, adapt, and move on. When I decide to step away from this business and for those who continue in the path of conventional Dentistry, the one thing that will probably continue to be a mystery is occlusion and running a close second will be contacts.

I can confidently prove why these are still problems and what causes the misfortune of high, tight, or loose. Whatever the case may be, I gave that up many years ago. We accept, adapt, and move on.

When I see that Ragle Lab can improve our services to you, our customers, whether that be through a procedure or product I am going to offer that as a standard method of operation. We can always do something else if requested but I am a believer that something has to be at the top, or core, for all else to be measured from. Over the years I have watched implant abutments improve. First it was a simple post but they came out or broke. Then whether the hex is inside or out, tines or friction, separate screw, double thread or single. They all worked for their time. Now we enter into the age of esthetic abutments. Some make universal esthetic abutments but then there are custom. See why I recommend only one standard procedure for today’s implant abutments.

My philosophical values have always driven me to seek out new advancements in dentistry continually pushing the envelope in bringing to the dental community products and services that will enhance the delivery of restorative care to the dental patient. Technological advancements are great, sometimes at quite a cost and not much return, but typically they lend themselves to improvements in the overall process in what you receive from Ragle Dental Laboratory. As we improve, I always believe we are never good enough, I want you to know what’s coming and going in our world of dentistry.
